Busy Christmas for The Mellor Brook Ukulele Group
Seamus Heffernan, December 25th 2017Mellor Brook has it’s own ukulele group, and they have been busy. They played 3 shows leading up to Christmas: on December 8th at Mellor Methodist Church; at Mellor Brook Community Centre on Sunday 17th December for the village Christmas Celebration and on Friday 22 December at Bank Top Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Blackburn.
The group meet each Monday night at the Mellor Brook Community Centre 8 – 9.30 and welcome any budding players, especially those keen to sing. Their repertoire includes Elvis, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Tom Jones, Status Quo and Tom Jones. Any new recruits welcome, especially under-50’s and most particularly if they can suggest any 21st century material.
