September show for The Bolton Bullfrog
Seamus Heffernan, July 8th 2019
Saturday 21 September 8.00 pm
Affectionately known as ‘The Bolton Bullfrog’, Bernard has been delighting audiences for 50 years. He’s forged a reputation with seriously daft songs and humorous monologues, together with his highly respected ability on the guitar, bass guitar & bass concertina.
He’s an actor as well as a singer and storyteller. Barry Clegg – the hapless rocket builder whose wife Lisa left him for Zak Dingle in Emmerdale, 3 episodes of complaining in
Dinner Ladies with Victoria Wood, & then Dodgy Eric in Phoenix Nights with Peter Kay, where he insisted that Brian Potter hire a bouncy castle with a fifteen feet phallic extension.
Radio listeners will have heard Bernard’s contributions to the Mark Radcliffe progs on Radios 1& 2. Drama lovers will recognise his dulcet tones from quite a few plays and serials on Radio 4 as well. He’s also done many series of programmes for BBC Radio Lancashire
At Mellor Brook, he’ll be performing a unique blend of songs, stories, monologues, very silly one verse poems and guitar playing.
