September show for The Bolton Bullfrog

, July 8th 2019

Saturday 21 September  8.00 pm

Affectionately known as ‘The Bolton Bullfrog’, Bernard has been delighting  audiences for 50 years. He’s forged a reputation with seriously daft songs and humorous monologues, together with his highly respected ability on the guitar, bass guitar & bass concertina.
He’s an actor as well as a singer and storyteller. Barry Clegg – the hapless rocket builder whose wife Lisa left him for Zak Dingle in Emmerdale, 3 episodes of complaining in Dinner Ladies with Victoria Wood, & then Dodgy Eric in Phoenix Nights with Peter Kay, where he insisted that Brian Potter hire a bouncy castle with a fifteen feet phallic extension.
Radio listeners will have heard Bernard’s contributions to the Mark Radcliffe progs on Radios 1& 2. Drama lovers will recognise his dulcet tones from quite a few plays and serials on Radio 4 as well. He’s also done many series of programmes for BBC Radio Lancashire
At Mellor Brook, he’ll be performing a unique blend of songs, stories, monologues, very silly one verse poems and guitar playing.
