Ten years after he first visited this corner of the Ribble Valley to accompany Lindisfarne singer Billy Mitchell, Bob Fox returns for a solo show. Fox has been developing his gift for conveying the hurt, joy, politics and honesty of folk song for over 40 years.  He has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand, has collaborated with many top musicians and is the recipient of numerous accolades and awards. His work includes The Pitmen Poets and the BBC Radio Ballads as well as many acclaimed solo recordings. In 2011 he followed Tim van Eiken and Saul Rose into the role of the Song Man in War Horse in London’s West End, subsequently touring with the show in the UK, Ireland and South Africa.

No doubt he will dip into the War Horse repertoire for his show at Mellor Brook but expect favourites from his broader repertoire as well: Rambling RoverIn the Bar RoomThe Waters of TyneBig RiverFarewell Johnny MinerThe Galway Shawl, Champion at Keeping Them Rolling and The Bonny Gateshead Lass.

Doors will open at 7.30. seating is unreserved so come early for the best seat.

Janet and Pauline will be staffing the bar which will stock a real ale, red and white wine by the glass or bottle and a selection of soft drinks.
