The group continues to run as a drop in facility for the community & started once more in January after a great Christmas party in December, when Father Christmas brought a present for each of the 26 children that attended along with their parents &/or grandparents. After a verse of Jingle Bells, Father Christmas came into the hall with his sack bursting with presents. He then called out each child’s name for them to receive a present from him. This took place after a lovely lunch of sandwiches, juice & biscuits, Fizz & mince pies for the adults!
After we had given Father Christmas a present, he left to another chorus of Jingle Bells.
We continue to have excellent craft sessions which can reflect the seasons & calendar.
Mrs. Janet Hindle visits us on a regular basis, ( in between teaching music both at Balderstone School & running classes at the centre)
Her enthusiasm for music & her own musical talent, encourages the children to sing & play instruments which they thoroughly enjoy.
We feel that we must hold a record for the number of sets of twins that attend a group. At one year old now, the three girls & three boys drop in on a regular basis & have done so since they were weeks old!
Mellor Brook Toddlers are a thriving, friendly group that is well structured to help the children & parents settle in to a pleasant environment.
Free refreshments are available at 10.30am, for both children & adults. Afterwards we have story time, nursery rhymes & songs before we say. Goodbye.
The group opens term time only.
