This is a musical collaboration born out of lockdown: these West Yorkshire lasses planned, arranged and rehearsed much of their album, A Year Too Late and a Month Too Soon, over the phone. Traditional material proliferates with most songs originating or collected (often both) from their native county. While some have poignant and mysterious messages, the delivery is far from sombre. Bryony sings and plays fiddle while Alice plays tenor guitar, harmonium and at one stage, turns herself into a human beatbox by hitting different parts of her body. Their stage performances are characterised by a jaunty off-the-cuff humour between the two of them and a sparky banter with the audience. This and their expressed pride in their home county will be keenly anticipated by the good folk of East Lancashire.
Seating is unreserved. Doors will open at 7.30. The show starts at 8.00. A licensed bar will stock a draught real ale, red and white wine and a selection of soft drinks.
Tickets (£15) are available by sending a stamped envelope and a cheque payable to J Aspin to Shamrock Promotions, 53, Briar Road, Blackburn BB1 9TF or online via Eventbrite. further info: 07377 788 716
