This is the last newsletter for 2009.
I’m sorry to have to tell you that Teresa is poorly and will soon have to undergo surgery. She will rejoin us when she can and I know you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.
If you would like one of the shopping bags commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Lancashire Federation, (£2 each), Ann Royle has a few, or we could send an order in to Susan Orchard.
Celebration with a Swing . Friday 15th January, 7 for 7.30 to 10.30. Venue ‘Best Western Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club’. £18pp, dinner; chicken, seasonal vegetables, a desert, tea and coffee starts the evening followed by cealidh music. Put on your party frock and join the fun.
When we get our November WI Life the new WI Logo will be shown. Also included will be a full report of the 2010 resolutions along with a voting form for your choices. Jean Simm needs these in by January. Jean will tell you more about it.
More 90th Birthday celebrations – an archive display. Our nearest is in Chipping Village Hall on Friday March 26th, 12 noon for 12.30 with 3 course lunch £18.
Another is in St Luke’s Church Hall Staining, Thursday 27th May. Afternoon tea £5 2pm to 4pm.
We need to know who wishes to attend by our January meeting.
African Fabrics and Chocolates Monday March 22nd . Coffee from 10am Start 10.30 to 3.30at Bilsborrow Village Hall, £13 includes a light lunch.
The morning speaker is Magie Relph a well known patchwork and quilting tutor. African arts and crafts influence a lot of her work.
Afternoon – Simon Parker from Thornton’s Chocolates of Kendal will tell about special occasions and other chocolates. You can also purchase some of these delicious chocolates.
Holiday to Eastern Canada aprox. late September.
